Standard engine covers are nice and
lightweight, but break very easily when you fall off. If you're lucky, you'll
only have to walk home after breaking the cover and pouring oil all over the
road. If you're not, you'll fill the engine full of gravel and have to strip the
lot to remove it, or worse still, damage the crankshaft. Fit some heavy-duty
engine covers
before you fall off, and you probably won't have to do either.
Niagara Race Crafters, or NRC, is the world's largest
producer of heavy duty superbike engine covers, with nearly fifteen years
experience in engine cover design and production. They have committed hundreds
of thousands of dollars in design, investment moulds, tooling, and state of the
art CNC equipment, to produce the finest heavy duty engine covers possible! The
engine covers are produced to ISO 9002 quality control standards and are
generally finished in a silver grey natural alloy, with the NRC logo cast into
the cover. These covers have been hugely popular in the US and Canada for many
years and are now the most popular covers in the UK.
For track days and race use, they are essential. The standard
covers just aren't up to the job. One of our World Endurance riders, Nigel
Morton, (known to some as Damage), did the decent thing as a tester and threw
our GSXR1000 down the track whilst pinned in top gear, at the Nurburgring in
Germany! That's at least 160MPH! The NRC casings were sound and the bike was
back out in 25 minutes, albeit with another rider! Ouch!
