High Performance Fluids

The harder you ride the bike the hotter the brake fluid will get. In general, a standard DOT 4 brake fluid is just fine for road bikes but is not suitable for track days and for race use. It simply doesn’t have a high enough boiling point. If you use the cheaper fluid and it boils, when you pull the lever the pressure will just compress the air bubbles and you will arrive at the corner at 100mph with no brakes! Believe me I have done it and it is no fun! It is very easy to wreck £10,000 of machinery for the sake of £10 of fluid.

For all harder riding, Roads, Track Days and Racing we recommend you use a high performance brake fluid such as Brembo Sport.EVO 500++ and Brembo LCF600 plus. The Sport EVO fluid is excellent for road, Track day and Race use from scooters up to World Super Bike racing but the LCF600 plus does have a slight advantage if you are going Moto GP racing! These are both Glycol based fluids and are compatible with DOT 3 and DOT 4 fluids. In this day and age though, DOT 3 is all but irrelevant having been basically superseded by DOT 4 when sintered brake pads first started to appear.
